The Twelve Days of Mixmas
So, over the last year, I’ve been getting into dubstep and its various styles. The genre is getting more and more popular each and every day. Out of boredom, I recently decided to make a continuous mix of some of my favorite songs. Once I completed sequencing an enjoyable first mix, I felt that I had a personal obligation to create a second mix. The second one was different in that I was searching the internet for songs. I started using songs that I had only found hours ago for the second mix. So, it started to become a “hot new tracks I found” mix. I made that mix, and just kept deciding to keep making more mixes. So, as of December 17th, I’m currently five mixes completed within a five day timespan. Most of these mixes run within the 30 to 40 minute timespan. Coincidentally, I finished my first mix on December 13th. If I am to follow through and continously make daily mixes for the next twelve days, my last mix will be on Christmas Day. Hence, the “Twelve Days of Mixmas” ends up happening. So, I’m challenging myself to actually complete twelve mixes in twelve days, with some quality control also thrown in. There seems to be an abundance of dubstep, old and new, all over the internet, so hopefully finding twelve mixes worth of dope tunes will actually happen.
